Animal Collective to Announce New Album Eventually, Probably

(11/21/11, 2:03pm) In a SPIN interview quoted in a Pitchfork news post paraphrased in a Stereogum editorial and then re-constructed based on context and user comments in a Quietus year-end list, Animal Collective’s Avey Tare said that “we have no plans to release a new album at the moment, but if we did, we’d almost certainly announce its impending release two or three months before it came out. Otherwise, how would people know about it?”

If you haven’t clicked this article’s gigantic ‘Like’ button yet, then either a) you are intentionally hastening the death of online journalism or b) you were waiting to hear the SECOND part of Avey’s quote, at which point you planned on creating 26 new Facebook identities (and 26 accompanying cyber-networks) to maximize the number of people you could recommend this article to, and so what Avey said is: “Yeah, I don’t see why our next album wouldn’t have album art. Doesn’t every album? Well actually I guess some don’t. But ours probably will. Like 99% for sure.” Damn that quote’s just begging to be tweeted with a link to this article right? Like it’s barely even in your control anymore! Like first off 99%? Is that a political thing? Is Animal Collective making the kind of Statement that would look great on say your Tumblr dashboard, padded with maybe even some commentary of your own? Just spitballing here!
